Therapy Animals in Assisted Living Facilities – The Magic of Healing with Animals
Animals such as therapy dogs and cats are often trained to help out their human counterparts who are dealing with grief and loss. If you or one of your loved ones have had to deal with the loss of a close friend or family member, these loving creatures will wrap their embrace around your heart to soothe it and, in time, help you feel ready to tackle life again.
A growing number of progressive assisted living Denver facilities have started using these therapy animals in the past few years, and for good reason. Many of them have reported that their communities are far livelier and more pleasant to be in just because of the presence of a single dog. In other cases, the presence of multiple animals has managed to completely transform people who had to deal with the loss of their spouses, friends, children and grandchildren.
It is still somewhat of a mystery to many as to how therapy animals are capable of this incredible feat. Many of them act like true empaths, and they seem to fully understand what the person in question is going through. Their respectful silence, their affection and even just the fact that they are there to listen and to help out is often enough to help you regain your faith and hope that things will turn out better than they have in the past.
