Creative Ways to Celebrate Halloween in Senior Living Centers
Dressing up and celebrating for Halloween is not just for young people; those in senior living can also enjoy this time of the year because there are many ways festivities can be brought into activity focused assisted living facilities in Denver.
Here are our suggestions.
Scarecrow building
This is a very fun project that can be accomplished by a group of seniors. Actually, several groups can build several scarecrows, in a contest for the best scarecrow.
Pumpkin games
Use small pumpkins to knock down a stack of cups. Use big pumpkins and let everyone guess their weight. Seniors who must sit down will surely enjoy a pumpkin carving and decorating contest; their creations can be used as decorations around the community.
Halloween bingo
This is a little game that entertains everyone. Just print a bingo chart, decorate it in Halloween style and use seasonal treats as incentives for winning games.
What`s in the jar?
Fill some jars with things that are difficult to guess and weird to the touch (slimy food etc.). Blindfolded people who are brave enough to stick their hands into these jars will test their guessing skills about what`s inside.
Balloon volleyball game
Active seniors will surely enjoy this game. Use orange balloons, decorated as jack-o-lantern faces and the fun is guaranteed!
